I returned back on 26th July 2015 to Karachi after celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr with my family at Quetta. It was a tough ask to return back without my wife ( Marjan Arbab ) & baby ( Islam Khan ) , but sometimes sacrifices are needed to meet the committed obligations.
Marjan’s took the hardest decision by resigning from reputable position of lectureship at BUITEMS however, she has to serve the university for a month in account of notice period to avoid financial penalties and ending up her tenure on a good note. Even though, it hurts to leave the place where you have memories of 7 years includes 4 years of education and 3 years of teaching experience, but she took the sour sip for myself & baby.
So, I have been home alone in Karachi since 26th July enjoying the so called freedom, but the fact is that, I miss my wife & cute baby. I need to keep myself busy in something to avoid loneliness, so I keep myself engaged in office work on weekdays and used to sleep for long hour, watch movies, blogging on weekends to enjoy my time. Tonight, I watched “PIKU” movie and luckily I found a quality torrent after a long wait of 2 months. The movie is about the father & daughter relationship even though their way of thinking are totally different from each other, but still they have a strong emotional attachment which keeps them together. Deepika played the role of Amitabh’s daughter named Piku who thinks that she must take care of his father by sacrificing her wishes; traveling, marriage, partying. Amitabh played the role of Piku father who has the constipation problem and always relate every disease symptom with it. The use of word “Poti” and “Constipation” is frequently used in the movie in such a way that it adds humor in dialogues rather than make you feel disgusting.The importance character of Taxi business owner is played by great actor non other than Irfan Khan who always do justice with the role assigned to him. These three characters of different mind sets met on a road trip from Mumbai to Calcutta journey which compromises of disagreements, stopovers for food, toilet and night stay.
Lessons Learned from Piku Movie;
1. Children should take care of their parents in old age no matter how irritating they are.
2. Parents shouldn’t bury the feelings of their children for their comfort zone.
3. Over thinking about any health related issues isn’t the cure.
4. Enjoy your life to great extent rather than restricting it to office & home.
5. Always remember your family roots and take great care of things which your decedents left behind.
Please don’t consider this post as a movie review, these are my thoughts which I shared after watching this movie. Since, every person has it’s own way of thinking so there is a higher chance that you lesson learned from this movie might be different from mine.
Beautiful piece of writing. Masha ALLAH… I learnt these lessons from this article without spending 3 hours on watching movie. 🙂
