“Register a domain” and they ask me “What?”. I tell them again “Register a domain name if you need a self-hosted WordPress blog”. That’s my answer to almost every person who asks me how to have a blog of their own.
For many people, particularly in my region who are more into facebook, twitter and Instagram are still not familiar with the prerequisites of creating a blog.
In this blog post, I will provide a step-by-step procedure to all those newbie bloggers who are unaware of how to create your own blog by beginning with registering their own domain name and hosting service. (A.k.a SiteGround Hosting Service)
Now a domain name has to be registered with a domain registrar. You first have to check the availability of the keywords for your domain name and then proceed to the checkout to buy the domain that starts with $10.
To begin with , I personally use SiteGround to buy a domain and hosting both. The best part is I don’t have to pay for the domain name if I am buying their hosting plan (Yes, you have to buy a hosting plan after registering your domain name, more on that later)
PS: If you are unsure about the Siteground domain and hosting, you can check my review in which I have written my personal experience with their customer support (along with screenshots)

I would recommend starting with the Grow Big plan which has many features compared to the basic plan. One of the best features is their premium support with regard to any technical problem in your blog. Which means you should not bother about manually installing a WordPress blog, their customer support helps you in all the prerequisites.
Additionally, they have a 24/7 chat support which you can use at any time to ask any questions related to your website. Also, for a discount price, you can click over my affiliate link to buy Siteground on $4.95.
Step 3: Checking the availability of your domain name
You need to check the availability of domain name that you want to have. Simply write the keyword and check its availability.
Step 4: Fill up the general requirements
Fill up the general requirements and check your email for confirmation. (Don’t worry! It’s completely safe to mention all your details)
Step 5: Go to Cpanel
You will receive an email from Siteground for confirmation of your domain and hosting. Yes! Thats it, now you are all set to create your own blog.
You just simply have to sign up to your Siteground Account and go to my accounts, click over the cpanel.
Step 7: Install WordPress
To have a WordPress blog, you have to install wordpress in your hosting service by going to the Cpanel of your hosting service and create an Id and password for your new blog.
By clicking over install, it will auto install WordPress in your hosting service.
Step 9: Create Username and Password
Now you have to create a username and password for your blog for security purpose to keep it safe.
That’s it! You can now simply check your WordPress blog by going to https://www.yournewblog.com/wp-admin
Step 10: Login user and password for WordPress
Its the same username and password you mentioned while installing WordPress in your SiteGround hosting
So what’s the next step?

Apart from my paid, unpaid and academic blog, when I decided to start a professional blog, I decided to have Abby Lawson Building a framework ebook that is a comprehensive guide to all that you need to know about Blogging from scratch. Not just that, she has also shared all her details of the way she earns passive income through her lifestyle blog. I came to know about Meera Kothand when she was in the initial stages of her new blog (not new anymore, she’s earning good income). From content creation strategies to Monetization tips along with email marketing (for which she is too good at ), she has it all covered.
If there is one thing that I would honestly want to share about Amy is her Simplicity of explaining the interconnected phenomenon in blogging. When I first got myself into registered with Amy’s knowtbook, I thought it would turn out to be some basic concepts that I was familiar with. However, it turned out that I knew very little about Money making strategies that she has publicly shared.
I can’t tell you how super awesome Suzi has been in teaching how to blog for all the newbie bloggers.
