Blogging is my passion, and this is one thing which I always want to do effectively and efficiently. Creating Aims and Objective for your new blog (don’t even think about ignoring this one)
We all have goals and aim for our lives that we tend to follow. For a blog business, a dedicated amount of time must be given to jot down and prioritize the goals and aims of starting your own blog and the objective behind it.
Once you have a blog domain and hosting, as a beginner you must make Goals and objectives of your blogging business.
- Write the main aim of the blog as to why you have done it and the real purpose of the blog.
- Jot down all the categories that you are all set to write about in your Blog content.
- Write all those points of what you plan o do to make it a success.
- Plan what you will write about in it. Find the topics for the month. Write as much as you think is enough. For me, it is never sufficient, but then I have to keep my audience in mind too. So, my blog posts are mostly between 1000 to 1700 words.
When I was wandering around in the blogging arena, I came across Abby Lawson’s Building a Framework: The Ultimate Blogging Handbook that gave me a clear focus and path for my blog.
Analysis of Previous Blog Posts:
After the blog has at least 10-20 posts, start maintaining its track. Factors which you should keep in mind are:
- How much traffic does it generate?
- Who reads the post?
- For how long do they stay on a page?
- Which keyword is easily ranked?
- How long does it take to index a post? and so on and so forth.
Maintaining Focus and Attention:
The third tip for the beginners is to make sure that the place where you are sitting and using for the writing purpose doesn’t have anything which distracts or takes your attention away. Also, in this regard keep yourself at ease as you comfort matters a lot.
What I do to concentrate is to put a slow music in the background which sort of elevates the creative juices and makes me able to write without any issue.
To focus on blog writing, I begin with my blog post planner and fill it up with the important details I require so that I could comprehend the outline in a blog post in just 30 minutes.
For that, you must keep all the points you want to address in one paper. In this way, you will concentrate on these points without causing any loophole in the thought process. Other writing tips talked towards the end of this article.
Strategies to Follow:
Like any business plan, you need to make a strategy to make it a success. I came across this book of Meera Kothand titled the Blog Startup that has among others, a launch plan which is worth praising.
When you have a business plan for your blog and you are following it systematically, it allows the audience to get something new every time they visit the blog. Above all that, you know what you have to do next instead of hovering around.
- Keyword Research Mechanism:
“Blogging is nothing without keywords!!” this is what almost everyone says and also believes in it. I would highly recommend people to use Long tail pro keyword software to generate the right keywords that you need to use in your blog posts.
I read about long tail pro in Pat Flynn’s blog when I was religiously following him for all his strategies. That man is super awesome in his work!
Link Building and Progression of Blog:
Building internal and external links to the articles bring in more traffic. But here the question arises “how”? It is possible when the blogs have more than one inbound links, creating more juices and resulting in more crawling of the web.
Guest posting is probably the one big method that still works when it comes to link building (More on that later)
Read, Read and Read – Research:
Without reading or research, you won’t be able to write with complete knowledge. Or even if you write, content shared will be bogus, without meaning or much importance. Reading habit inclusion by both novice and experts have to do to make the best blog.
I have recently gone through the following ebooks and online courses that has immensely helped in understanding the business of Blogging.
- Abby Lawson’s Building a framework: The Ultimate Blogging handbook + Video tutorials
- Meera Kothand’s “The Blog Startup”
- The She approach ~ Boost blog traffic
- Amy Lyn Andrews blogging basics
- The Six-figure blogger
- How to earn quick money as a freelancer (free course)
Likewise, research-based articles are nothing without facts and figures. Again, to have a complete figure and points list, we have to do the comprehensive research.
Enhance Writing Skills:
Writing is all about passion and needs to make the blog successful. One of the useful tips on blogging is to take few paper certificates or diplomas. This is not always the need, though; but, if the blog is about English Grammar and Language, you will need something to show the audience to have trust in you.
Learn Basics of Backend Features:
Looking for help to fix the solution caused at the backend of the blog is not a good idea. We suggest you have the basic knowledge to make a blog running without many hassles and bit too smoothly so that you can enjoy it too.
However if you are bad at tech work and you want someone else to do that job, than SiteGround has this super awesome customer support who will create a new WordPress blog for you.
Security of the Blog:
Prior to publishing any posts on your blog, make sure that there is at least one plugin which serves the purpose of security check.
All in all these tips for blogging are for amateurs who have recently taken up blogging as the means of making money. Hope you must have learned how to make a blog successful.
There is indeed a couple of other ways too, but those are more towards the technical and writing side of the picture. Let’s wait to see those coming up soon!!
